Tips for Rushees

Be Yourself
This is the most important advice of all.  Nobody is looking for a good act, and most can see right through it.

What to Wear
Review your Initiation Preparation Guide and see what type of dress is appropriate for different functions.   For rushees (pledges), the normal attire is a solid red T-shirt with blue jeans and tennis shoes.  No black jeans and no pockets on T-shirts.  Make sure you always bring dress attire when attending functions / activities.  If it's cold, please bring a jacket or coat.  Always consult your rush counselor for attire requirements.

At Functions, Events and Initiation
Always stand and recognize Big Sisters when they enter the room.  You will sound off loudly with Greetings and God Bless Big Sister(s) of Sigma Phi Psi Sorority for United States Armed Forces Women.  You will recognize the Sister by the attire she wears.  She will be in full uniform.  Check with your Big Sister prior to attending the event if you are not sure.

Always ask questions about the sorority via email, phone or in person.  Never ask what the initiation rituals, etc. are.  These rituals are exclusive to our organization.  Remember, some questions cannot be answered until you are accepted into the sisterhood.  We are not a secret organization, but our rituals are sacred.  Don't just spend your time communicating with one Big Sister, get to know everyone via email, or in person when the opportunity permits.
