Rush
It is unfortunate, but it is possible for you not to be invited to join.  You always have the option of dropping out of rush.  If things aren't going as well as you hoped, if paying annual dues or other fees is a problem, or any other reason, you may drop out.

Not many invitations are offered during rush, so competition may be tight; depending on how many ladies want to get into a particular chapter.  Accepting invitations during rush will put you with the pledge group that was recently accepted for rush for that year.
